Architectural Historian

The successful candidate will work for Tetra Tech and participate in assisting with architectural history and historic preservation projects.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- conducting architectural history investigations (survey and evaluation);
- conducting historical research;
- preparing historic preservation planning documents for the installation;
- analyzing project impacts on historic buildings, structures, and districts;
- developing and implementing mitigation measures;
- coordinating historic resources tasks related to local, state, and federal environmental regulatory processes; and
- Implementing the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Rehabilitation of Historic Properties.
- Project and task management responsibilities include coordination and cooperation with other environmental and engineering departments and project managers.
Qualifications
Candidate must have:
- 3-5 years previous in architectural history, either consulting or with a federal agency;
- strong analytical and writing skills;
- ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams; knowledge of Section 106, Section 110, and NEPA requirements;
- proficiency in architectural analysis and documentation preferred;
- prior experience in cultural resources management, including familiarity or proficiency in preparing CEQA and Section 106 documentation, is highly desired; and
- Experience working with state Office of Historic Preservation standards and processes also highly desired.
Education Required
Advanced degree in historic preservation, architectural history, architecture, or closely related discipline. Candidate must meet US Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards.
