Expressions of Interest
Based on the success of Unbuilt Perth!
As part of the Faculty of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Visual Arts curriculum, students in 5th Year Electives, Key Texts (Charlie Mann) and Advanced Computing (Rene Van Meeuwen) will be required to model either a significant project which has never been realised or a significant built project which has been lost to demolition.
We are looking for designers, researchers and historians who know of significant buildings or landscapes which qualify. As a requirement the projects will need basic information; images, plans, elevations and sections. The students will require some correspondence through the semester for information on details but we believe this will be a maximum of one hour of email correspondence.
At the conclusion of the academic year we intend to exhibit the work in an exhibition titled “Unbuilt Australia” complete with a catalogue.
As part of your commitment to this project we will supply the participant with the digital files generated by the process after the conclusion of the exhibition for their own future research and publication. The process will realise images, animation and a 3d model made in 3DStudio Max. An example of a Nervi project that we found slated in New Norcia, Western Australia from 1957 has been published on the internet and demonstrates the resolution that is achievable within a semester elective program.

We believe that this project will remain ongoing for the next three years allowing us to realise 200 designs. We will require the information for the first semester students by Friday 24th February 2012.
